Our Gallery is a dedicated retailer for Demontfort Fine Art, the UK's leading international publisher and distributor of Original Paintings and Collectable Limited Editions. They work in partnership with many of the best contemporary artists from around the world, and as well as showcasing award winners and household names such as Rolf Harris and Doug Hyde, they aim to introduce outstanding new work to a discerning audience of art lovers. Because Demontfort work with such a wide variety of artists it would be impossible to keep our site up to date, with what is available and what is not. Print Information

Aside from the Original Paintings, every image that appears on the Demontfort website is an exclusive Limited Edition Fine Art Print. This means that the most appropriate printing method has been chosen for each individual painting which has then been reproduced a limited number of times. Every one of these renditions is individually approved by the artist, then numbered and signed as a mark of its authenticity and collectability. The printing method selected is enormously important to the overall look of an image, in terms of colour, texture and even mood, and of course it has bearing on the price too.

Giclee printing - has transformed the quality of the Limited Edition Fine Art Print forever. Requiring sophisticated printers and specially texted colourfast inks, and quality paper and canvas this blend of fone art and state-of-the-art technology produces extrodinarily accurate reproductions.

Hand Embellishment - Some years ago Demontfort pioneered a new presentation of the giclee incorporating hand embellishment. Under th direction of the artist certain elements of the image are highlighted with hanh-applied paints or gold and silver leaf. This is done to bring the piece closer to the essence of the Original, creating a stunning effect, as can be seen in dramatic Scottish vistas of John Lowrie Morrison or Duncan MacGregor's intense seascapes.

Hand Enhancement - More recently, hand enhancement giclees have been introduced on canvas. here, the skillful hand-application of high quality art varnish adds vitality to the finished image. This has a particularly striking effect on artwork where light and shadow plays an important part, as in Sherree Valentine Daines' impressionistic images.

Silkscreen Printing - Silkscreen printing is a modern development of stencil printing. It presents colours with great accuracy and gives a unique depth to each piece. In the Dog House and Seven Days a Week by Doug Hyde were printed using this method. Nowadays some Limited Edition prints are produced as Giclees but are given a silkscreen varnish finish which adds a distinctive radiance to the colours.

Etchings - Etchings are created individulayy using a traditional etching plate and needle, often hand-coloured by the artist. This method ensures an unusual degree of clarity and strength of colour. So award winning artist Tim Bulmer is not only a talented painter and humourist, he is also a highly skilled technical craftsman.
